Michel Krämer and Paul Hermann receive prize for the best lecture

Fraunhofer IGD congratulates Dr. Michel Krämer and Paul Hermann on winning the prize for the best lecture for their course "Verteilte Geometrieverarbeitung" ("Distributed Geometry Processing"). Additionally, four new professors, including Prof. Dr. Arjan Kuijper, introduced themselves at the summer colloquium of the Department of Computer Science at the Technical University of Darmstadt.

Teaching evaluation: The prize for the best lecture in the winter semester 23/24 went to Michel Krämer and Paul Hermann.
Prof. Dr. Arjan Kuijper provided information about his specialist area of Mathematical and Applied Visual Computing.

On 20th June 2024, the summer colloquium of the Department of Computer Science and the summer party of the student council took place in and around the Piloty building under good weather.

The Dean, Prof. Dr. Dr. Christian Reuter, opened the event with a brief update on the department. Four new professors then presented their research specialisms:

  • Prof. Dr. Roderich Groß, Resilient Cyber-Physical Systems
  • Prof. Dr. Arjan Kuijper, Mathematical and Applied Visual Computing
  • Prof. Dr. Dominik L. Michels, Intelligent Algorithms in Modelling and Simulation
  • Prof. Dr. Amir Moradi, Implementation Security

After the lectures, the Computer Science Student Council awarded the best teaching of the winter semester 2023/24. Dr. Michel Krämer and Paul Hermann from the Department of Graphical Interactive Systems received the prize for the best lecture for their course "Distributed Geometry Processing". Dr. Jaqueline Brendel and Julius Moritz Hardt from the Department of Cryptography and Complexity Theory were honoured for their exercise on "Public Key Infrastructures".

The predicted thunderstorms did not materialise, so the participants were able to round off the evening with ice cream and drinks at the student council's summer party.

The Winter Colloquium 2024 will take place on 5th December.
