Digital technologies are fundamentally transforming the bioeconomy, and Fraunhofer IGD is actively shaping this transformation. With our advanced solutions, we are making a crucial contribution to sustainable development in Germany. Our expertise in areas such as biodiversity assessment, animal welfare monitoring, and seed quality strengthens local agriculture and helps to efficiently address ecological challenges.

On August 19, 2024, State Minister Ingmar Jung personally reviewed our progress and new approaches. Dr. Philipp Wree presented pioneering technologies in smart farming that offer practical support to farmers. Dr. Michel Krämer demonstrated how we can effectively respond to the consequences of climate change with AI-powered forest and land monitoring.

With these solutions, we are supporting the Ministry of Agriculture in developing forward-looking measures for sustainable agriculture and forestry. Our research contributes to advancing digitalization in the agricultural sector and making agriculture in Germany future-proof.
