Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGDBorn in Wiesbaden, he studied computer science and earned his doctorate at the Technical University of Darmstadt. Additionally, he obtained an Executive MBA for Technology Managers from RWTH Aachen University.
Since 1995, he has been a research associate at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD in Darmstadt. From 1998 to 2000, he led the Virtual Reality Group within the Visualization and Virtual Reality department. He then took on responsibility for the strategy and coordination of Fraunhofer IGD activities.
From 2005 to September 2024, he served as Deputy Director of the Fraunhofer IGD. Since October 2024, he has been the Institute Director of the Fraunhofer IGD.
