Vincent Abt studied electrical engineering with a focus on medical technology at the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in cooperation with Siemens Healthineers from 2012 to 2015. In 2020, he graduated with a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering and information technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
The academic knowledge was already consolidated and supplemented during the bachelor's degree in the context of the technical service of medical imaging systems. After completing his foundational studies, Mr. Abt moved to the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation IPA. Here he worked in the project team for automation in medicine and biotechnology PAMB, concentrating on projects for robot-assisted placement of surgical tools on the human upper part of the body. During his Master's studies, he continued his activities as a graduate assistant.
After graduating and with the onset of the Corona pandemic, Mr. Abt specialised in wearable health monitoring systems while working as a hardware engineer at corvolution GmbH.
Since September 2021, he has been employed as a research assistant at the department “Smart Living & Biometric Technologies” of the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research IGD in Darmstadt, Germany. He currently puts his research focus on mobile systems for monitoring the function of blood vessels in the lower extremities.
