Once again this year, the Maritime Graphics competence center of Fraunhofer IGD presents its technical innovations for the maritime industry at the Baltic Future 2011 in Rostock. The trade show and convention for offshore wind power and the maritime industry in the Baltic Sea region opens its gates for the third time on May 4 and 5, 2011.

The researchers of Fraunhofer IGD present their IMOTRIS project at the world’s largest exhibition for transportation, logistics and traffic, transport logistics 2011, from May 10 to 13.

Actors from science and business are meeting this year in Rostock from May 26 to 27 at eLearning Baltics. eLBa assembles the scientific conference eLBa Science, the user forum eLBa Business and a technical exhibition under one roof.

Leading specialists of the 3D software components for design, engineering and industrial applications are meeting at the Spatial European Forum 2011 in Frankfurt from June 7 to 8. Fraunhofer IGD presents there its conversion software CAD2Vis and its developments for real-time simulation and visualization.

After almost three years, the research project “MARSPEED” comes to a successful close at Fraunhofer IGD. The researchers present the new ground-effect simulation system in Rostock on June 9, 2011.

In the newly founded Fraunhofer Forum “Waterborne”, everything revolves around the subject of ship building and operation. "Waterborne" invites to the first Forum on June 15, 2011 in Hamburg, Germany.

Fraunhofer IGD is opening the new research center. The “Visual Computing Research and Innovation Center” is created in close cooperation with the University of Rostock. For the ceremonial event, Fraunhofer IGD and the University of Rostock are expecting high-ranking guests from science, business and politics.

On the Paris Air Show –Paris Le Bourget 2011 Fraunhofer IGD presents its contributions to the EU Project JTI Clean Sky. The institute develops technologies for real-time flow simulation and semantic analysis of sustainability factors in the product development cycle of the aerospace industry.

The annual Web3D ACM Conference begins in Paris on June 20.Together with researchers, designers and users, Fraunhofer IGD will exchange information on the latest developments for 3D content on the internet at the conference.

From June 28 to July 1, 2011 Fraunhofer IGD will be on the INSPIRE Conference 2011 in Edinburgh. There the institute presents the newly-founded Data Harmonization Panel to the specialists for geodata infrastructures.

The internet is reaching the next dimension. Three-dimensional content adds value to the web. Fraunhofer IGD invites participants to discuss the future of the internet together with representatives from research and business.

Once again this year, the Go-3D is an important meeting point for innovative companies and application-oriented researchers. Numerous presentations on the technology of 3D computer graphics and its maritime applications as well as an accompanying exhibition set the stage.

From September 2 to 7, 2011 the IFA in Berlin will be opening its doors again. This year Fraunhofer IGD will present its multimedia developments and augmented reality applications for tourists on the technology transfer platform IFA TechWatch.

Fraunhofer IGD will present its latest developments for surface scanners and real-time simulation to the specialist world at the EuroMold 2011. The EuroMold is the leading trade fair for moldmaking and tooling, design and application development, and will open its gates at the Frankfurt am Main Messe from November 29 until December 2, 2011.

Modern technologies are shaping urban life. More and more people live in cities, network, change their environment and readjust to it. Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft takes up this development all around “Urban Living” and presents solutions for our future co-existence at its joint booth at CeBIT 2012.
